Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube is an incredible Game comprised of 3 parts. The control scheme is well layed out and is very easy to pick up and play.Unlike most Resident Evil games this is a third person shooter, so that means YOU CAN SEE WHERE YOUR GOING!!!! Yay! That’s right no more preset camera angles that make you run into big trouble or make it difficult to get somewhere. Another good change is that the game is all about the weapons but still has that niche that makes you go into survival mode.

You start off as Leon Kennedy, a good guy that used to work for R.P.D (Raccoon Police Department), survived Resident Evil 2, and now protects the presidents family. You are sent to a remote village in Spain to find and save the president’s daughter, Ashley Graham. Ashley Graham has been kidnapped by a terrorist group called Los Illuminados and is said to still be alive. You are driven by two Spanish police that you assume are going to help you on your assignment but are soon killed leaving you stranded. This is where the game really starts to take off. You end up fighting for your life from the beginning and really start to understand what you got yourself into. From here on out you have your trusty 9mm handgun. The best part about the weapons is that each one has a laser-sight, this makes it EXTREMELY fun to aim, shoot, and kill. unlike other games where you hope that it’s going to hit dead on the vital areas. You’ll start collecting things right away and you’ll continuously get a couple of different manuals to help you figure out anything that makes you scratch your head. After finding the “Princess”, killing some BIG enemies, and the head chief of the village, you go on to the second part of the game.

This part is comprised of a VERY large castle with many secrets, including some that lead to the origination of the “las plagas” (the parasites that are in control of the village people). Now when I said the castle is BIG I meant it, you’ll head down creepy corridors with portraits that watch you walk by, walk into a few traps, and even be shot at with catapults (and yes you can take those out too, only if you have good aim, that is.) as you make your way through the castle you’ll start to learn about the owners, which believe me you kinda don’t want to know. Eventually Ashley will be taken away from you and you’ll be chasing her scream back and forth around the castle. Thus leading to the BIG boss, The last remaining member of the castle’s royal family. He’s kinda tough (unless you use a rocket launcher, hehe.), but you’ll kill him….eventually.

Now the third part, someone (I’m not going to say) helps you get off to a far off island. Once you get there though she (oops) almost crashes the boat with you on it!!!! After a quick rethink of trust you head onto the island. This part of the game I have to say is kinda lame, you end updoing basically what you had been doing since the start, FINDING ASHLEY!!! BUT there are a few things that make this part fun, you’ll have a few new surpises when you kill someone or blow their head off, as well as a couple new money makers. So while you travel through this industrial type island make sure you look in every nook and cranny. You will eventually meet the big cheese, the head honcho, OR as I like to call him the EASIEST BOSS EVER!!!! Best part about this battle? Well I’ll let you decide. OF COURSE the makers of the game want to go out with a bang so you end up fleeing the island because why????? IT”S….. anyways you’ll see the ending when you finish the game and also gain access to a new weapon, a fun little handgun called Matilda. Plus another thing you’ll find is you have unlocked a special mission….well you’ll see (I’m not going to give EVERYTHING away. So here are my ratings for the game:

Graphics: 5/5 (This is as good as the gamecube gets)

Gameplay: 5/5
(CONSTANT action with some puzzles for breaks)

Weapons: 5/5 (after you beat the game this is what the replay value is ALL about)

Camera: 5/5 (Such a nice change from the original games with the new over the shoulder veiw)

Overall Game: 5/5 (Really the best game for the gamcube and one of the best FPS’)

This game looks really cool, from the trailer I have gathered it is in a post-apocalyptic error, and the wandering boy is in search of what has happened, there are elements of fighting, and ghosts, I wonder what they will do with it.

“Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon is a Nintendo Wii RPG that takes place in the near future, in a world that has lost its population. You play as Seto, a young boy who wanders around, searching through the abandoned cities and facilities of this world, trying to learn the truth behind the disappearance of all the people, and to find someone to keep him company. The game was released in Japan on January 22, 2009 and features the theme song “Hikari” sung by Aoi Teshima (Gedo Senki / Tales from Earthsea soundtrack).” - TVKon
